My work parallels my personal life, most often found walking lines and in the position of the insider-outsider. And from my position, I am most interested in the merging of culture and morality... specifically that of American culture and every applicable sub-, counter-, mass-, consumer-, or pop- prefix that combines to form this dynamic country. In essence,
I address how America experiences the human condition.

My photographic work employs the traditional visual aesthetic of the American road-trip experience. My video work mirrors the way America creates in this day and age-- no longer manufacturing entirely our own product, but assembling various pieces manufactured elsewhere, importing more than we export-- I sample in combination with my own video imagery. Independent of medium, each work manifests itself as a hybrid of pop-art’s quirky tragic humor and kitscy moral commentary.

My influences subscribe to the likes of Jeff Koons, Barbara Kruger, Andy Warhol, Diane Arbus, Robert Frank, Stephen Shore, William Eggleston, Johnny Cash, Kenneth Anger, Ryan Trecartin, and DJ Spooky (to name a few) for I admire those who recognize that humor, tradgedy, and intelligence are inextricably intertwined, who can navigate and appreciate both quality and plasticity simultaneously, and who understand that the shiny object which captures attention is not a sign of A.D.D., but of an aesthetically aware mind.
